It is located near the beautiful Vega Dam, where you can enjoy fishing.

Also nearby is one of the most important archaeological sites in the region, Guachimontones.

The settlement belongs to the Teuchitlán tradition and is characterized by its unique architectural style with stepped platforms and circular courtyards. The earliest settlements date back to 100-450 AD, and its heyday was during the Late and Postclassic periods.

The town has a pleasant square where you can find the Temple of the Lord of the Ascension, and the Teuchitlán Archaeological Museum exhibits interesting objects found at the site.

You can also walk along the Teuchitlán River, enjoy nature, and visit the Chinampa, an artificial island.

A different experience is visiting the obsidian mines located near the town and taking a tour of nearby haciendas such as Hacienda La Labor de Rivera, Ex Hacienda La Estanzuela, and Hacienda Fuentes, which have been converted into luxurious hotels.
