A grand convent building constructed by the Augustinians.
It is mostly of Romanesque, Mudéjar, and Plateresque styles, situated on a pre-Hispanic construction. It has a 29-meter tower and a monolithic atrial cross.
The choir inside the temple still preserves the wooden structure from the 16th century. The extraordinary polychromatic mural paintings depicting scenes of the Last Supper and the Virgin Mary are noteworthy.
The open chapel is of Franciscan style. There is a pilgrims' portal. Inside the convent, religious paintings depicting Bible passages stand out, incorporating pre-Hispanic elements such as the techichi (dog), which was believed to carry the soul of the deceased, the comma as a symbol of communication, and an owl on each side of Christ.
Currently, the cloister houses the Tomazquitla Archaeological Museum, which displays a collection of pieces made of ceramics, obsidian, lithic materials, and plant fibers.
