HISTORY AND TRADITION AMIDST BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPES
One of the oldest and most historically significant towns on the Chiapas coast.
It is currently considered the third most important city in the state.

Visit the archaeological site of Iglesia Vieja
Located just 16 km from Tonalá, it is a vast complex where you can see pyramids, walls, sculptures, and impressive carved stelae.
Visit Puerto Arista
Located only 40 minutes away, it boasts beautiful beaches and is one of the most important beach destinations in Chiapas. Its wide stretch of gray sandy beach, spanning 40 km, is ideal for water sports, and its restaurants offer delicious dishes.

Other nearby attractions along the Chiapas coast include Playa del Sol, ideal for quad bike rides on the beach; Bahía de Paredón, a fishing village where you can engage in water sports; Boca del Cielo, where you can enjoy sport fishing, boat rides, canoeing, swimming, skiing, diving, photography, flora and fauna research, and visit the turtle camp; and La Sepultura Biosphere Reserve, which is an ideal place for bird watching enthusiasts.
Visit Arriaga
Less than half an hour away is the town of Arriaga, a beautiful place with a warm climate. One of its highlights is the Railroad Museum, which exhibits pieces from the first trains that arrived at the station, as well as old photographs.
Just 10 minutes from this town is the region's most important green iguana breeding center called U.M.A. la Cabaña. Here, you can take a tour of its facilities, where you can not only see iguanas but also snakes, crocodiles, and spider monkeys. You can also visit their restaurant.
Only 20 km from Arriaga is Playa Aventura, whose beauty is unique due to its proximity to the inlet that connects to the Dead Sea and the Pacific Ocean. It is characterized by its diverse bird species, surrounding islands, and the simplicity of its inhabitants. Among the islands, the Bird Island stands out as a sanctuary for various bird species such as pink spoonbills, seagulls, ospreys, caracaras, kingfishers, and black-and-white ibises.

Located within the La Sepultura Biosphere Reserve, you can admire caves and the enormous pool. 32 km away is Santa Brígida, ideal for swimming in calm waters, boat trips, or fishing. It has restaurants where you can taste delicious dishes made with fresh seafood.
