To start the expedition you have to take an ATV and tour along dirt roads and mountains, as well as agricultural fields and sugarcane fields.
Continuing with the expedition, you will reach the river and the three beautiful waterfalls, where you will enjoy a unique landscape. The expedition path include walking, swimming, jumping from rock to rock, jumping into the water at a height of up to 7-meter (23 feet), climbing in the river and even rappelling in a 45-meter (148 feet) high waterfall.

Cañón del Sumidero
The splendid landscape of the canyon has impressive limestone walls with three routes with different characteristics. There are a couple of poor quality sports sectors but the scenery makes up for it all.
If you do not want, or cannot, walk, you can enjoy this magnificent natural beauty and tour the Sumidero Canyon by boat, it is an unforgettable experience. The walk lasts approximately two hours and on the way you can see countless birds, crocodiles and impressive waterfalls, as well as caves and the amazing walls of the canyon.

Cañón Río La Venta
It is one of the most spectacular places and it is full of adventure that extends from the waterfall "El Aguacero" to the reservoir of the Malpaso dam. It is a is an 80-kilometer-long canyon with with vertical walls of up to 400-meter (1,300 feet) that have been formed thanks to the erosion of a river. There are several colorful caves and waterfalls, and some rapids. This is the palce where the ancient natives performed funeral rituals.
The Arco del Tiempo (Arc of Time), is one of the most amazing natural wonders in the area. It is located on an area of geological formations over 87 thousand years old, with predominant karst landforms. There is a cave which brings together speleological, natural and archaeological wealth and during the rainy season becomes a terrible siphon in the wide sections.
The expedition members can rest or camp on the shores.
The best months for this tour are from January to May. You can camp on the banks of the river sheltered by the high walls of the canyon.
Touring the La Venta River Canyon includes various activities such as trekking with a heavy backpack, rappelling, swimming, climbing, rowing tubing and camping.
El Chorreadero
It offers a unique adventure that combines canyoning and caving, as well as climbing, rappelling and swimming, since it has dry sections and a river, so it is better to explore the Chorreadero in the dry season that runs from November to April.
Cañada Jaguar
It is a place with impressive landscapes that are discovered when crossing a river that enters the mountain. As you go deeper into the canyon walls grow until reaching a height of 350-meter (1,150 feet). At the end of the ravine the water forms a spectacular waterfall.
The journey involves going through lush vegetation and doing several rappels with heights ranging from 20-meter (65 feet) to 120-meter (390 feet). You can experience this adventure throughout the year.
