TOP SIGHTS IN CHETUMAL
Boulevard Bahía
It runs through the entire city and offers an incredible view of the bay.
This avenue, which is one of the main roads in the city, provides an amazing view of the bay and allows you to enjoy the city's restaurants and typical architecture.
You can explore it by bicycle or walking.
Centro Internacional de Negocios y Convenciones de Chetumal
The Convention Center is a modern building with spaces for exhibitions, fairs, and all kinds of events, equipped with high technology.
It has a total area of 29,743 m2 and a divisible hall with a capacity of up to 2,500 people.

Explanada a la Bandera
It is the first monument built in Chetumal and is located in front of the Government Palace.
It consists of two golden eagles flanking a pedestal with an obelisk and a clock, commemorating the country's defense when Mexico declared war on Germany.
Jardín Zoológico Payo Obispo
It is a pleasant zoo that covers 11 hectares.
It has an interesting collection of birds, reptiles, butterflies, and mammals from the region. To preserve the species, the animal enclosures seek to resemble their natural habitats.
You can walk among enormous mahogany and ceiba trees that can reach heights of up to 15 meters.
Monumento del Pescador
It is an iconic monument of Chetumal.
It depicts a fisherman with his net located on Bahía Boulevard, and it is one of the favorite spots to take a photo.
This sculpture was created by Rosa María Ponzanelly and bears the legend "Chetumal. Here Mexico Begins," surrounded by a fountain and a wooden boardwalk that extends into the bay.
Parque “El Renacimiento”
It is a pleasant park with an esplanade.
In the park, there is a large sculpture called "Renacimiento," which commemorates the devastation caused by Hurricane Janet in 1955.
Next to it, there is a shopping center and the Palace of Justice building.
Zona Libre de Belice (Subteniente López)
It is located across the Hondo River.
This area has dozens of shops offering tax-free goods.
The border bridge can be crossed on foot or by car, and a passport is not required.
This area also offers casinos where you can enjoy entertaining nightly shows and dine in various specialty restaurants.
To the right of the Duty-Free Zone, the road leads to Orange Walk, Corozal, and the interior of Belize. Mexican travelers do not require a visa to enter that country, but if they have a car, they are required to purchase insurance.
