IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TARAHUMARA SIERRA

It is the main visitor center for the Copper Canyon.

It is located in the middle of the Tarahumara Sierra, amidst enormous rock formations, forests, and waterfalls, 257 km from the city of Chihuahua, the capital of the state.

Its surroundings are a delight for adventure and nature lovers.

There is a wide variety of handicrafts made by the Tarahumara people, such as various basketry objects, wool textiles, and carved wooden figures. You can find these crafts in the Main Square and the Crafts Museum in Creel.

One of the most attractive ways to reach this Magical Town is through El Chepe, a railway that covers a distance of approximately 700 km between Los Mochis and Chihuahua. Throughout the journey, you can enjoy unparalleled landscapes.

Since it is located in a mountainous area, temperatures tend to be low. During the summer, the average temperatures are around 17ºC, while in winter they can drop to -5ºC or even lower.

It is located 258 km (3.5 hours) from Chihuahua and 397 km (10.5 hours) from Los Mochis.
