CHIHUAHUA
Cumbres de Majalca National Park
The park offers a unique landscape extraordinary rock formations that have been shaped by windand water erosion. Some of this fascinating volcanic rock structures have received names such as: Las Hadas (The Fairies), El Encantado (The Enchanted) or Mil Castillos (Thousand Castles), among others.
The landscape includes rivers, streams, canyons and ridges offering various challenges to walk through a forest of pines and oaks. It is recommended to visit the park in spring and summer, because during the winter the temperatures drop drastically.
It is located an hour and a half north of the city of Chihuahua.
COPPER CANYON
San Lorenzo Ranch
The route for the Cardameña Canyon starts in San Lorenzo Ranch. This beautiful canyon is also know as the "Canyon of the Cascades". The adventure begins at the famous Basaseachi Waterfall National Park and ends in the mineral town of Candameña.
The experience includes hiking, rappelling and climbing to reach the bottom of the waterfall and the viewpoint called La Ventana with a panoramic view of the waterfall.
Along this route, you will see the great Piedra Volada (Flying Stone) Cascade and the enormous Peña del Gigante (Giant Rock), among other impressive formations. It is also easy to find raccoons, jaguars, wild boars and otters, among others. This canyon has become a paradise for explorers, trekkers and mountain climbers.
It is located in the Basaseachi Waterfall National Park.
