FUSION OF THE COLONIAL PERIOD AND THE PORFIRIATO WITH TOUCHES OF MODERNITY
The city has its origins in mining activity, especially in the Santa Eulalia mines, which had large silver deposits.
Chihuahua features open spaces, unique museums, and modern roads. Taking a stroll through the city of Chihuahua is a pleasant experience, appreciating its buildings with different architectural styles, ranging from Baroque and Neoclassical to early 20th-century architecture, not to mention the modernity of the monuments created by the great sculptor Sebastián. Additionally, it boasts a variety of museums that reflect the passage of history.
Notable constructions include the Cathedral, the Government Palace, Casa Chihuahua, and Quinta Gameros, along with the avant-garde designs by the renowned sculptor Sebastián.
Among its prominent festivals are the International Chihuahua Festival, which showcases world-class figures, the Expogan Fair, a showcase for regional livestock breeders, and the traditional Santa Rita Fair, the city's patron saint celebration.
The climate in this region can be extreme, but during your visit, it is balanced by the warmth and hospitality of its people.
