BORDER CITY WITH A LONG HISTORY

The original name of the city was Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe de los Mansos del Paso del Norte, or simply Paso del Norte, as it was called until the late 19th century, a name that is still preserved by the American city on the other side of the Rio Grande.

It is located in an extensive valley on the banks of the Rio Grande and offers great opportunities for business, entertainment, culture, and history.

It is a dynamic city that combines the old and the modern. The economic progress in this city is above the national average, as it is one of the most important maquiladora centers in the country. It is the largest city in the state of Chihuahua and the eighth largest in the country.

The city is full of attractions, shows, and events, from car races and rodeos to bullfights, golf tournaments, and motorcycle races.

The entertainment centers are numerous and varied, but beyond the nightlife, visitors will find excellent restaurants and places that promptly offer not only typical Chihuahuan cuisine but also dishes from many parts of Mexico and the world.

We recommend visiting Bar Kentucky, which is one of the most well-known places in the city and has an interesting history. It is said that Hollywood stars used to come here during the Prohibition era in the 1920s. Additionally, it is also said that the Margarita cocktail was first served here.
