COPPER CANYON
Candameña Canyon
In this ravine you will discover two of the highest waterfalls in Mexico, Basaseachi and Piedra Volada.
The Basaseachi Waterfall is located 3.2 km from the community of Ocampo and there is a trail that runs along the La Ventana Viewpoint Route and leads to this impressive waterfall. The panoramic view of the waterfall and its surroundings is splendid. The climb is very demanding so you need a very good physical condition.
If you prefer a route that does not involve so much effort. You can walk the path that leads to the viewpoints of Rancho San Lorenzo, you can access through Las Estrellas and the panoramic views of both the waterfall and the canyon, will not disappoint you.
The Piedra Volada Waterfall, 453-meter (1,486 feet) high, is also a place that requires a long walk and high level of fitness. You have to walk along two paths that lead to different viewpoints and from there continue two more kilometers to reach the waterfall. However, your effort is rewarded as the entire trail offers incredible views. You can also camp and go mountain biking.
Urique Canyon
There are interesting tours from the town of Cerocahui or Huicochi to the Corocahui Waterfall that includes approximately 8 km round trip where you can see the impressive forest landscapes home of more than 200 species of birds.
Hiking in Chihuahua
La Sinforosa Canyon
You can visit its viewpoint and enjoy unique panoramic views, or take a pleasant walk along the bottom where the Río Verde runs with truly incredible landscapes, although you need to be in good physical condition. It is located 7 km from the town of Guachochi.
Ruta del Toro
This is a route that covers part of the municipality of Guachochi and consists of 8 km of impressive natural landscapes where you can enjoy each of the surprises of this magnificent place accompanied by a certified guide. Good physical condition is required for this tour.
CHIHUAHUA
Chihuahua offers a great variety of landscapes to explored. The options range from extensive plains to spectacular ravines. The most recommended season to visit is during the winter, when the temperatures range from 28 to 30°C.
Cumbres de Majalca
Famous for the rock formations that have sparked the imagination of the locals and are known as “Mil Castillos” (Thousand Castles), “El Encantado” (The Enchanted) and “Las Hadas” (The Fairies). Beside you can enjoy a great biodiversity along the tour. It is located two hours from the City of Chihuahua.
