TOP SIGHTS IN TEZIUTLÁN
Antigua Estación de Ferrocarril (Old Railway Station)
The train station was built during the Porfiriato period and was part of the narrow gauge railway line that ran on the Oriental-Teziutlán route.
The exhibited locomotive traveled this stretch until 1966, transporting passengers, various goods, and the metals extracted from the "La Aurora" mine located in the northern area of Teziutlán.The exhibited locomotive traveled this stretch until 1966.
Bosque de Bambú
This is an incredible attraction for nature lovers. This is a project made by the communities of Ahuata and Coyopol and is part of the “Fog Circuit”.
There are tours where you can learn about all the different types of bamboo, as well as the planting and growing process.
Casa de la Cultura (House of Culture)
It is located in an old typical house of the mountainous architecture dating back to the mid-19th century. Its style has been preserved with a grand tile roof, hardwood floors, and pine beams.
In its corridors, you can see some columns and door and balcony decorations made with Teziutlán quarry stone. The two-story arcade surrounds a beautiful courtyard adorned with a fountain in the center.
The different rooms are used for a variety of cultural activities.
Catedral de Santa María de la Asunción
In its beginnings, the Cathedral was a hermitage consecrated to Archangel San Miguel.
Later, it became the Chapel of the Rosary.
In 1931, it was named a cathedral when the episcopal seat changed from Papantla to Teziutlán.
Palacio Municipal (City Hall)
This building was constructed in 1946 during the presidential term of General Manuel Ávila Camacho.
The construction consists of three levels, and its facade was made of pink quarry stone in a Neoclassical style.
Parque Hidalgo
It is a rectangular area with landscaped gardens, pleasant benches, and a kiosk in the center. It is one of the most traditional sites in Teziutlán and a pleasant meeting place for locals and visitors. From here, you can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and admire the surrounding buildings such as the Cathedral and the Municipal Palace.
The portals are home to a variety of shops and delightful restaurants.
Parque Recreativo El Pinal
It is located north of the city and used to be a zoo. It is the ideal place to be in contact with nature and enjoy a good moment of leisure.
It has a gym, a cafeteria, playgrounds, a cycling circuit, a wading pool, and a skating rink.
Plaza de Toros “El Pinal”
This bullring was built between 1951 and 1954. It was the first covered bullring in Latin America.
It has a capacity of 7,000 people and has been used for bullfights, fair events during the Teziutlán Fair, and some concerts.

Santuario de Nuestra Señora del Carmen
It is a beautiful chapel consecrated to the Virgin of Mount Carmel, located on a small hill in the neighborhood of the same name.
It is surrounded by a legend that tells the story of the pirate "Lorencillo" who attacked a ship departing from Veracruz to Spain in 1672.
Teatro Ricardo Castro (Theater)
This architectural gem dates back to 1880.
The construction shows a marked French influence. Its original name was Teatro Victoria.
Templo Expiatorio Guadalupano de Texaxaca
It is located on the hill of the same name in the municipality of Teziutlán.
