This community was populated before the arrival of the Spanish and was where the Caste War began. To learn more about its history, you can visit the Museum of the Caste War housed in a beautiful colonial building from the 18th century, where pre-Hispanic pieces, paintings, photographs, weapons, and documents related to this important 19th-century conflict are exhibited.

Another place to visit is the Temple of Santo Niño de Jesús, and you shouldn't miss a Maya ceremony or demonstrations of traditional music and dance.

In the community, you can also learn about cotton spinning and the use of plants in traditional medicine.
