MODERN AND ACTIVE

One of the most important and modern cities in the state. It is called the 'white border' for being the border city with the lowest crime rate and one of the cleanest in Mexico. 

This dynamic city has various manufacturing companies and major industrial parks; it also offers top-level tourism and commercial infrastructure.

Tourist Attractions in Piedras Negras

Historic Center

Here you can find several interesting buildings such as Hotel Coahuila, the Telegraph and Post Office Building, the Customs Building, and the old Hacienda de San Isidro.

Zaragoza Market

It is the ideal place to acquire a wide variety of crafts.

Macroplaza I and II

They feature beautiful green areas and have become recreational spots for families. They are adorned with monuments and have soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball courts, as well as bike and skate tracks.

Plaza de las Culturas

Located near the International Bridge, it showcases scale replicas of the Pyramid of the Sun from Teotihuacan, the Tajin Pyramid with its 365 niches, and the famous Castillo de Chichen Itza. The plaza also houses replicas of Olmec, Mayan, and Aztec sculptures. Adjacent to it, there is a building with an area decorated with attractive murals, a planetarium, children's playgrounds, and dancing fountains with a pleasant light and sound show.

Gran Plaza

Also located near the International Bridge, it has become the city's gathering center. It spans over 36,000 square meters and features a magnificent piece of art called "Monumento Al Vuelo," where flying swallows have been installed, providing an incomparable light show at night.

In this astonishing plaza, you'll also find the tallest flagpole in Latin America, standing at 120 meters, where the world's largest flag measuring 60 meters long and 34 meters wide waves. Hoisting this flag requires the effort of 40 army personnel.

Northern Border Museum

This museum narrates the history of the region and the establishment of military colonies to protect the country. Throughout its 9 rooms, it displays a collection of over 350 historical artifacts that speak about the first explorations, missions, the separatist movement, the new frontier, the railroad, the Revolution, industry, mining, and many other topics related to the history of Piedras Negras.

El Chapulín Children's Museum

It is a modern venue with modules that invite children to learn more about robotics, computing, and technology. It is divided into thematic sections.

Paseo del Río

Between two of the three bridges that connect Piedras Negras with Eagle Pass, a pleasant place called Paseo del Río has been created, stretching over a kilometer. In this area, you can engage in sports activities surrounded by wooded areas. It also has playgrounds and spaces for cultural activities.

Other Attractions

You can also visit the Casa de las Artes, the Santa María de Guadalupe Parish, and access the Paseo del Río.
