IMPORTANT NATURAL ENCLAVE WITH LANDSCAPES THAT MUST BE CONTEMPLATED

Its name is derived from the whaler Black Warrior, which ran aground in 1858 in its waters, and in fact, its remains remained in the lagoon for decades.

It is part of the El Vizcaino Biosphere Reserve and forms part of a large biological corridor composed of lagoons, coasts, plains, and mountains that have high biological value.

Guerrero Negro is a city located right in the middle of the peninsula and is the main urban center in the area where the lagoons of Ojo de Liebre, Guerrero Negro, and San Ignacio are located.

The town emerged as a result of salt exploitation and has hotels, restaurants offering typical regional seafood, craft shops, and all the services required by visitors.

In the Guerrero Negro lagoon, "The Island" is located, artificially created to establish the first loading port for salt, although currently, the transportation port is in the Ojo de Liebre lagoon and is known as "El Chaparrito."

On "The Island," there is a lighthouse and a rest area with an incredible panoramic view of the marshes.
