The waters of the Loreto Bay are considered by many to be one of the best places in the world for sport fishing.

Within the bay, the best place is in Juncalito, which is located 25 km south of Loreto.

The best season for bonito is from March to December, for dorado from March to November, for blue marlin from August to October, for striped marlin from May to November for swordfish from April to December, for pompano from March to November, for roosterfish from September to November, for sierra from January to April, for yellowfin tuna from August to October and for jack mackerel from January to May.
