Las Tres Vírgenes
An option for lovers of this exciting sport is the Volcanic Zone of Tres Virgenes (Three Virgins).
It is a volcanic complex made up of the Tres Vírgenes, Azufre (Sulfur) and Viejo volcanoes, with an altitude of 2,054 meters above sea level.
Climbing it represents a certain degree of difficulty, mainly because of its south face that ends in an impressive crater. From the top of this natural formation, large extensions of the landscape of this region and part of the extensive Gulf of California or Sea of Cortez are dominated.
Pilón de las Parras
It is located in the Sierra Giganta and is an elevation with more than 1000 meters above sea level (3330 ft) and a guide is needed to climb it. There are trails but they tend to get covered with dense vegetation.
In the ascent you will find some canyons and you will have to climb some walls. However, the climb is not excessively steep, so it does not have a high degree of difficulty.
From the top you can see majestic cardones and incredible views of the Sea of Cortez, Loreto and its islands.
