MEXICO'S MOST IMPORTANT WINE REGION
Welcome to Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico’s premier wine destination. Located in Baja California, just 20 km from Ensenada, this valley offers a unique combination of history, natural beauty, fine wine, and world-class cuisine—making it a must-visit for lovers of the good life.
Though its modern history began in 1834 with the founding of the Mission of Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe del Norte by Dominican missionaries, archaeological findings reveal the presence of the ancient San Dieguito culture here more than 7,000 years ago—adding rich historical depth to the region.
Valle de Guadalupe is part of the renowned Wine Route, which also includes the valleys of San Antonio, Ojos Negros, Santo Tomás, San Vicente, La Grulla, Tanamá, Las Palmas, and San Valentín. Altogether, the region is home to over 200 wineries, including celebrated names such as L.A. Cetto, Monte Xanic, Casa Pedro Domecq, Adobe Guadalupe, Barón Balché, Alximia, Vinos Xecue, and Viñedos Las Nubes. Its growing reputation has even earned comparisons to California’s famed Sonoma Valley.
Beyond the wine, the valley offers a complete experience: breathtaking landscapes, guided vineyard tours, personalized tastings, gourmet dining, and a wide range of accommodations—from luxury boutique hotels to cozy rural cabins.
While the region is enjoyable year-round, the peak season runs from May to October, when the weather is perfect for outdoor experiences. In August, the Fiestas de la Vendimia (Harvest Festival) bring the valley to life with wine-centered events, cultural activities, and culinary celebrations hosted by local wineries, restaurants, and hotels.

UNMISSABLE EXPERIENCES IN VALLE DE GUADALUPE
Wine Route
One of the activities you shouldn't miss is the Wine Route since this region produces nearly 90% of the wine in the country.
On this route, you can visit incredible vineyards of all kinds, large, small, and artisanal, as well as the cellars and facilities of many of Mexico's top wine producers. Additionally, you can enjoy tastings offered by each winery, which often include local cheeses, olives, and cured meats.
If you enjoy adventure, you can explore the vineyards on an ATV and have a more direct contact with nature.
Cañón y Salto de Guadalupe
You can also visit the Guadalupe Canyon and Waterfall, located 20 minutes from the Valle. It is a beautiful oasis with hot springs surrounded by large rocks. In the area, you can go rappelling or explore the surroundings, where you can find some cave paintings.
Hot Air Balloon Flight
However, the must-do experience in this place is a hot air balloon flight. During a 30-minute ride, you can enjoy the landscape of vineyards contrasting with the ochre and brown of the desert.
