TRADITIONAL MEDICINE CENTER AMIDST WOODED LANDSCAPES
A town that has preserved its ancestral Zapotec traditions and customs over the years, reflected in its gastronomy, crafts, and music.
Its streets are paved with cobblestones and adapt to the irregularities of the local topography. While strolling through them, you can enjoy buildings made of yellow stone with tiled roofs, all framed by a landscape of huge green hills on the horizon.
From September 11th to 22nd, the annual fair in honor of San Mateo Apóstol takes place, featuring the traditional "calenda," rodeos, and fireworks.
The climate in Capulálpam is mountainous, generally humid and cold. The temperature doesn't vary much throughout the year, with average highs around 21ºC and lows around 12ºC.
Capulálpam is located 73 km (2 hours) from Oaxaca and 533 km (8 hours) from Mexico City.
