Inaugurated in 1980, it is dedicated to the cultivation and preservation of orchid species and varieties native to Michoacán.

You will also find other species from the states of Chiapas, Veracruz-Llave, Jalisco, Oaxaca, Quintana Roo, San Luis Potosí, Mexico, and Colima, as well as from other countries such as Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Paraguay, and the United States.

It consists of three modules or greenhouses. One exhibits blooming orchids.

The second houses around 650 specimens of hybrid orchids, which result from crossing species and varieties, exhibiting larger sizes, vibrant colors, and a great diversity of shades.

The third module showcases wild orchids, with more than 2,300 specimens from jungles and forests. Their flowers are smaller than the hybrids, but they come in greater numbers and present a harmonious combination of colors.
