A town that has been able to combine colonial heritage with modernity.
The place has integrated modern industry, becoming the most important commercial and livestock center in the region.
In the city center, the colonial atmosphere is preserved with the Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe, built in the 17th century, featuring a beautiful Plateresque facade and an impressive dome decorated with a painting of "The Assumption of the Virgin Mary." Inside, there is a beautiful tabernacle.
The Isidro Fabela Cultural Center is housed in a beautiful mansion where the writer, politician, and former governor of the state lived. It has a library and exhibition rooms where temporary exhibitions are presented.
You can also visit the Las Fuentes Recreational Park, which has springs and lovely spaces for a picnic.
Not far away is the Sanctuary of the Lord of the Orchard, a small church built of pink quarry stone. Its peculiarity lies in the many ex-votos and popular paintings on the altarpieces, which believers use to express gratitude for favors granted.
The Isla de las Aves Park is located a few kilometers from Atlacomulco, next to a beautiful reservoir with a grove that has become the habitat of various birds. You can go canoeing and fishing, and there are also barbecue areas and cabins.
