Jardín Hidalgo

This is the main square of the town where you can enjoy the local atmosphere and admire the beautiful surrounding buildings, including the San Nicolás Tolentino Temple. It is an ideal place to enjoy a shaved ice or a delicious ice cream and take a memorable photo in front of the monumental Tierra Nueva letters.

This is an authentic architectural gem worthy of admiration. It features a sober façade made of pink and white cantera stone in a neoclassical style with Mudejar details. Its distinctive feature is the three towers of different heights. Inside, you'll find beautifully decorated walls and vaults with imposing chandeliers and a magnificent main altar where the image of San Nicolás de Tolentino is located.

Cerro La Mesa 

This place is surrounded by stories and legends, especially related to the times of the Revolution. The hill served as a refuge for many who fled during the Cristero War, and some committed acts of looting. According to locals, there is a cave where a treasure was hidden, which many have sought. However, if you try to take it, you'll hear a voice saying, "leave if you can," which is why this place is also known by that name.

La Muñeca Dam

This is one of the most important dams in the state. It is surrounded by semi-desert landscapes. Its main attraction is the remains of the lost chapel of the Lord of Mercy, a 10-meter-high tower crowned with a wrought iron cross. This is the only remnant of the town of Vigas, which was abandoned in the early 20th century. It is one of the most Instagrammable places in the Pueblo Mágico. It is located just 11 minutes from the center.
