AQUISMÓN
Sótano de las Golondrinas
The cave shaft has a depth of 512 m (1,680 ft) and has become a refuge for hundreds of swallows. It is quite a spectacle when every dawn and a little before nightfall the swallows come out in a spiral. Located half an hour from Aquismón.
Sótano de las Huahuas (guacamayas)
The cave shaft has a depth of 478 m (1,568 ft) and is the habitat of white-collared swifts, swallows and green parakeets. Currently, due to the settlements that were made in the area, the macaws have migrated to Cerro de la Pila. Located in San Isidro Tampaxal, 25 minutes from Aquismón.
CIUDAD VALLES
Sótano del Arroyo
Here you can observe more than 100 different species, among which are: trogons, larks and owls, to name a few. Located within the Sierra Abra Tanchipa Biosphere Reserve, 20 minutes from Ciudad Valles.
