AQUISMÓN
Cascada de Tamul (Waterfall)
This is the highest waterfall in the state with 105 m (344 ft) and has a spectacular fall next to the Gallinas River that flows into the Santa María River. This descent can be combined with a canoe trip down the Tampaón River in its fourth canyon. Located in Aquismon.
Sótano de las Golondrinas
It is a natural abyss of 376 m (1,250 ft) with a cone like shape which allow a spectacular single free fall to the bottom. For a long time it was considered as the deepest in the world. It is a unique challenge for rappel lovers. It is recommended for experienced people. However, in its surroundings there are smaller descents with fewer risks, ideal for beginners. Located in the municipality of Aquismón.
Every day, after sunrise, birds find their way out in a spiral way to steadily keep gaining altitude, and every day, before sunset, birds have to make a strait and incredibly fast approach to their nest so they can literally cut the upcoming wind currents from the cave.
CIUDAD VALLES
Cascada de Minas Viejas
It is a good option for this exciting sport. It has a 50-m (164 ft) drop surrounded by exuberant vegetation and the most turquoise pools in the Huasteca area. This descent can be combined with the waterfall jump in Micos.
Rappel in San Luis Potosí
Puente de Dios (God's bridge)
It is a scenic 15 m (49 ft) rappel falling directly to the Poza Azul de Puente de Dios where you can see the beautiful cavern that gives rise to the name of this place. Located in Tamasopo.
Sótano del Arroyo
The shaft descends to a depth of 40 m (131 f). It is recommended to go with a professional guide. Located 20 minutes from Ciudad Valles.
SAN LUIS POTOSÍ
Joya del Salitre
It has a height of 30 m (98 ft) and a width of 70 m (230 ft), so it represents a good challenge in the middle of a beautiful landscape. It is located in Realejo, 10 km north of Guadalcázar and an hour and a half from the city of San Luis Potosí.
Cráter Encantado
The ecopark provides you with guides and routes to be able to practice this exciting sport in the mountains that surround the beautiful valley where this ecopark is located.
XILITLA
Hoya de la Luz
It is a sinkhole with two vertical shafts, one of 125 m (410 ft) and the other of 200 m (656 ft), excellent for rappelling. Located one hour from Xilitla.
