Palacio de Gobierno (Government Palace)
The Government Palace is the official residence of the Executive Power in the state.
It was not originally designed for this purpose but as a penitentiary for the former Seventh Canton of Jalisco. It is considered the finest neoclassical work in the city.
The palace has two floors framed by a cornice that runs along all four facades.

Palacio Municipal (City Hall)
This place used to be the old viceregal prison until the 1980s. Later, the building was demolished to construct a school for teachers, but when that responsibility was transferred to the federal government, the construction remained unfinished and abandoned. It was subsequently used as a theater and then as a cinema.
After being destroyed in the 1940s, the building was rehabilitated to house the offices of the City Hall.

Plaza Bicentenario (Bicentennial Plaza)
It is located in front of the Cathedral.
The plaza is surrounded by portals that date back to ancient times and have been modified in different periods.
In the plaza, there is the old dolphin fountain, now modified to feature frogs.

Teatro del Pueblo
This modern construction serves as a venue for various cultural events, exhibitions, and public shows. The theater was designed by architects Miguel Cantú Mendoza and David Alfaro López and inaugurated on September 20, 1987.
The theater hosts performances of theater, opera, music, dance, variety shows, children's shows, festivals, conferences, and other activities.

Turibus
The Turibus offers various tours.
From Monday to Thursday, tours are available every hour, and on Fridays, tours up to four hours long are offered, including night tours. There is also a tour that shares legends and visits the Hidalgo Cemetery.
During the tours, visitors can explore the main museums, plazas, and tourist sites of the state capital.
