BEAUTIFUL ARCHITECTURE AND NATURAL HOT SPRINGS
A small town founded by the Nahoa tribe, located on one of the paths of the Camino Real during colonial times.
When you visit this Magic Town, you will not only travel back in time but also feel as if you are in a European village.
In addition to its beautiful architecture, it is surrounded by incredible natural wonders that are ideal for all nature lovers. It also offers several hot springs with pools of spring water where the whole family can enjoy the forested landscape and all the amenities. If you enjoy local delicacies, you can visit the Jardín de los Hijos Ausentes, located in front of the San Francisco de Asís temple. This garden is surrounded by food stalls where you can enjoy tostadas de pata and “Las Tortillitas,” the favorite snack of the locals. However, one of the dishes that distinguish this town is the tortas ahogadas de “Chago,” known for being prepared with a salted birote roll. For dessert, don’t miss the rich mango cajeta.
The town has an average annual temperature of 23.0 °C with summer rains.
It is located in the southern part of the state of Nayarit, one hour from Tepic.

Tourist Attractions in Ahuacatlán
Templo de San Francisco de Asís
This temple is in ruins as its walls were made of adobe. It dates back to the 17th century and was used until 1991 when part of its walls collapsed. Its clock was donated by President Álvaro Obregón.
Tempo de la Inmaculada Concepción
A building constructed by the priest Procopio del Toro. Its most unique characteristic is that the temple is not used for worship but for indoctrination and meetings of Catholic associations. It is a beautiful construction, making it a must-visit spot for a souvenir photo.
Casa de la Cultura (House of Culture)
Also known as the Dr. Luis Aranda del Toro House of Culture. It is located within the Ahuacatlán City Hall building. Various cultural activities take place here in different rooms, such as conferences, craft workshops, and theater and film performances, among others.

Enjoy the Acatique Hot Springs
It is a rustic place with warm spring water pools. Another attraction is its wooded landscape, where you will find a wide variety of fruit trees. There are volleyball courts, children’s playgrounds, and wading pools.
Explore the Ceboruco Volcano
If you like adventure, this is a good challenge since the elevation known as “The Black Giant” has a height of 2,260 meters above sea level. From its summit, you can have an impressive panoramic view that includes the nearby localities. On the way, you will find remnants of stones and volcanic lava, as well as water vapor, indicating that it is an active volcano.
Cool Off at Las Tinajas
This place offers several natural pools formed by water emanating from the rocks. Its beauty is unique as the emerald green natural pool is surrounded by a beautiful landscape of lush trees. It is best to visit during the week to enjoy the landscape more peacefully.
