This town was founded in 1723 when the Hacienda del Río Florido was established.
This town has an important historical legacy as it hosted Benito Juárez during his journey through Paso del Norte. The house of this significant historical figure is still preserved.
Near the Main Plaza, you can see a wall approximately eight meters high that was used for playing with a rubber ball and hand.
It has a very mysterious atmosphere, as its cemetery is over three centuries old and is an interesting place to visit. Besides stone epitaphs, you can see stone coffins that have surfaced.
The San Francisco Javier Temple, dating from the 18th century, is one of the oldest temples in the state. Additionally, it houses mysterious underground tunnels and catacombs, primarily used during the Revolution.
Several remnants of old colonial-era buildings are still distinguishable, including the ruins of the Hacienda de Guadalupe de Bagües, which dates back to the 19th century.
A few kilometers away is Peñoles, a small mountain range boasting a series of granite formations with some cave paintings.
