It has a pleasant main square flanked by the Church of Santa Catarina and a community museum that exhibits archaeological pieces found in the region, as well as some paintings and maps from the colonial era.

Its main attraction is an archaeological site located on Cerro del Jaguar. Ceremonies are held here every equinox, as an incredible phenomenon occurs with the sun passing along the edge of the mountain, resembling a large snake moving on the horizon.

Another attraction is the Sendero de la Virgen, a trail that leads to an ancient stone bridge.
