An artificial lake dating back to the 19th century.

At the end of the 19th century, under the auspices of the textile mill "La Fama," a dam was constructed to retain the waters of the Tlalmecapan spring, creating a small lake.

When the aforementioned textile mill was demolished, the lake dried up. However, under the administration of Lic. Rafael Murillo Vidal, two lakes were built and refurbished in 1973. Today, it is one of the most beautiful landscapes in Xalapa.

It is located at the foot of the University City and is surrounded by lush vegetation and beautiful gardens. In the middle of one of the lakes, you can see a basalt aqueduct.

The lakes are encircled by a promenade where you can enjoy leisurely walks. Additionally, boat rides are available on Sundays.
