It is known as the capital of rafting in Veracruz.

It is a place to enjoy the natural beauty at 398 meters above sea level, with a warm climate most of the year. It is an authentic paradise for adventure sports enthusiasts due to its incredible canyons and rivers.

The Antigua River, which flows through Jalcomulco, is one of the best rivers in Mexico for rafting, offering various levels of difficulty.

It is also the ideal place for rappelling, hiking, and bird watching in the surrounding canyons such as Tuzamapan and Chicabaxtla. Additionally, you can enjoy an exciting zip-lining experience.

Among the best-known dishes in Jalcomulco is "acamaya," a giant river shrimp prepared in green sauce, garlic sauce, or chipotle sauce.

It is located on the banks of the La Antigua River, in its upper part known as Río Pescados, 57 km from Huatusco and 30 km from the state capital, Xalapa.
