Everyone who visits agrees that it is one of the most beautiful places in the mountains of Veracruz.

It is characterized by its quiet streets and pleasant temperate climate, which allows for a variety of colorful flowers to bloom throughout the town.

In the main square, you can find Lázaro Cárdenas Park, featuring a unique kiosk that houses a café. Across the square, you can admire the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus with large glass windows.

Further ahead, you will find Venustiano Carranza Park and the Municipal Palace.

The Municipal Market will delight you with the colors and scents of all the flowers, as well as offering a variety of local products.

A must-visit place is the Bonsai Museum, the first of its kind in all of Latin America. It covers approximately 1,500 square meters, where you can admire elms, ahuehuetes, gardenias, camellias, jacarandas, pines, and many other species.

You can also visit the old Porfirian-style railway station and feel the nostalgia of bygone times, or explore the Puente Metlac, a place full of stories and legends that give it a mystical atmosphere.

Nearby is the Ex Hacienda de Santa Lucía, built in 1618, and for the thrill-seekers, you can paraglide from Cerro de San Juan and enjoy a unique panoramic view of the region.

A few kilometers away is Chocamán, a beautiful town surrounded by rivers and streams that invite hiking and bird watching.

If you enjoy hiking, you can visit the "El Chinene" viewpoint, which has interpretive trails.

For the more adventurous, you can venture into the Sierra de Zongolica, a true paradise for spelunking. If you're looking for a challenge, you can go canyoning in the Jamapa Canyon or, for a higher level of difficulty, the Carbonera Canyon, which offers a multitude of waterfalls, springs, and caves.
