This harmoniously beautiful alley gets its name from a legend that originated during the colonial period.
The legend tells the story of a Spanish couple who lived on this street. They had a very beautiful daughter who was engaged to a young merchant named Cosme de Taboada.
One night, in the typical fog of this region, the couple was saying goodbye at the window when a drunken man passed by and unexpectedly pulled out a dagger, stabbing the unsuspecting young man. Upon seeing her beloved wounded, she shouted, "Cosme, Jesús te Ampare" (Cosme, may Jesus protect you).
Today, this alley takes you back in time, allowing you to experience a very special atmosphere.
