This construction followed the model of the convent complex in Yanhuitlán, with vaulted ceilings and a large main facade.

Just 30 minutes away is San Martín Huamelulpan, a town located in a beautiful forested area with pine and ocote trees. The town has a 17th-century temple built with carved stones from the nearby archaeological site, which can also be visited.
