Here you can visit the religious complex dedicated to San Jerónimo.
The complex was built by the Dominicans in the 16th century.
Its facade is baroque, and inside, it houses frescoes painted with cochineal red dye and indigenous features.
It contains some altarpieces by the famous indigenous painter, Juan de Arrué, highlighting the one depicting San Jerónimo, considered one of the most outstanding works of the viceroyalty in Oaxaca, as well as a pipe organ dating back to 1620, which has been restored and is in working condition.
Near the temple, you will find the Municipal Palace with thick columns and beautiful arches, and further ahead, La Picota, a place where prisoners were exhibited as a warning to those who intended to commit any kind of crime.
You can also admire a sundial in the area that is still used by the community.
