A picturesque town with cobblestone streets.

This town houses an architectural gem, the Temple of San Pedro Mártir de Verona, which was built in the 16th century using pre-Hispanic vestiges. Inside, it features a beautiful collection of sacred art.

You can visit the Archaeological Museum, which houses the Yucunama Codex, one of the few surviving pictorial Mixtec documents dating from 1530-1550. The museum also exhibits other pre-Columbian artifacts found in the region.

In the surrounding area, you can visit El Sabino, an old Montezuma cypress tree considered the second oldest and largest in Oaxaca. Its roots contain freshwater springs, which have helped preserve the tree.
