Currently, it is an elegant neoclassical-style building with three stories covered in quarry stone.

Inside the palace, there is a small Salas de Carranza Museum dedicated to the history of Coahuila, from the colonial era to the present day. The museum features nine rooms with over 450 interesting historical objects. It is located on the ground floor of the palace.The appeal of this palace lies in the murals by Almaraz and Tarazona, which depict the history of the state, from the city's origins to the present day. These murals can be found in the lobby and on the marble staircase.

Dentro del Palacio hay un pequeño Museo Salas de Carranza que está dedicado a la historia de Coahuila, desde la época virreinal hasta la actualidad. El museo cuenta con nueve salas con más de 450 objetos históricos muy interesantes. Se ubica en la planta baja del Palacio.
