The ancient Mission of San Lorenzo de Huépac was founded in 1644 by Jesuit missionary Gerónimo de la Canal.

Its name means "Wide Valley" in the Opata language, the native group that inhabited this region before the arrival of the Spaniards.

The impressive Parish Church of the Mission of San Lorenzo de Güepaca, dating back to the late 17th century, and the oldest flour mill in the region stand out.

Inside the Municipal Palace, you can admire murals depicting the heroes of Independence. While in the center, we recommend you not to miss out on tasting their delicious shaved ice treats.

In the surroundings, you can visit La Gotera, a water spring located within Ranchito de Huépac. Here, you can go fishing for tilapia, camping, hiking, and mountain biking.
