BEST BEACHES IN ROCKY POINT
Bahía la Choya
It is a rocky peninsula located west of Rocky Point, accessed via a dirt road, where sporting events are constantly held.
There is a monumental hill with a picturesque village and a estuary where you can collect mollusks and shells. It is also an ideal place for water sports.
Cholla Bay has a great shopping center with great local items and unique arts and crafts pieces that will make great souvenirs.
Playa Encanto
The “Charm” beach honors its name, with a low key and relaxing environment.
The quiet coastline is ideal for swimming, snorkeling and parasailing.
It is located about 12 miles from Rocky Point.
Playa Hermosa
This is one of the most popular beaches in Rocky Point. It is perfect for kayaking, sailing, swimming and enjoy a banana ride.
This section of beach contains tide pools, rocks and seaweed, many of which are exposed when the tide is out.
Lots of restaurants, bars and shops are within walking distance from this beach.
Playa Las Conchas
A secluded 6-mile stretch of beach home to a residential complex where you can buy or rent several houses with an incredible panoramic view of the Sea of Cortez.
These rolling sandy beaches provide shorelines for swimming, kayaking, sailing and kitesurfing.
In addition, you can see lots of tide pools housing marine life when tide goes out. A number of cantinas and restaurants line the beach.
Playa Pelícanos
A pristine beach named for the numerous brown pelicans around the area, an excellent area to enjoy the wildlife, don’t forget a pair of binoculars and your camera!
There are some residential developments in this area. It is not a very visited beach so you can see virgin natural landscapes. It is a beautiful place to relax.
Sandy Beach
It is a fine sand beach with calm and shallow waters, ideal for swimming snorkeling, diving and other water activities.
It is on this beach where some of the most important events such as nautical competitions take place.
High-rise condominiums, exclusive hotels and a beautiful golf club line the shore.
In the Sandy Beach area is La Loma, which is a large hill of white sand that measures approximately 100 m. It is an ideal place to have fun with ATVs and motorcycles.
