TOP SIGHTS IN CIUDAD OBREGÓN
Biblioteca Pública Municipal “Jesús Corral Ruíz” (Public Library)
A cultural space that houses the history of the city and the state. Every month, a cycle of major film productions is presented, known as cinema afternoons or nights.
It has reading rooms, a children's room, a braille room, a map collection, a newspaper library, exhibition spaces, and educational spaces.

Cascada Monumental (Waterfall)
Built in 1990, it resembles the volcano fountain at the Mirage hotel in Las Vegas.
At night, the lights along with the water create a spectacle worth witnessing.
Located in front of the monument of Juan Maldonado Waswechia, leader of the Yaqui resistance.

Catedral del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús (Cathedral)
It is a modern building that houses a jewel inside. A 12-meter long by 7-meter high altarpiece stands out, weighing 2.5 tons and composed of 30 marble pieces with gold leaf inlays and bronze elements.
Construction began in 1977 to replace the previous temple. It features a giant truncated pyramid-shaped roof topped with a cross.

Laguna del Náinari (Lagoon)
An artificial lagoon with an approximate diameter of 2 km.
The lagoon offers a light and sound show with dancing fountains and geysers that shoot water jets up to 50 meters high.

Mercado Municipal “Mercajeme” (Market)
An excellent place to purchase souvenirs made by local artisans. It is the largest and oldest market located in the center of Ciudad Obregón.
Construction began in 1942, and it was inaugurated in 1945. It has two levels and over 150 stalls inside.

Palacio Municipal (City Hall)
The facade and interior of the building feature impressive murals. These works of art depict episodes from the history of Cajeme and were created by Héctor Martínez Arteche and Roberto Meneses.
It is located in front of Álvaro Obregón Plaza.

Plaza Álvaro Obregón
This is where the biggest celebrations of Ciudad Obregón take place throughout the year. The plaza features a wide variety of flowers and trees, a monument to General Álvaro Obregón, a sundial, and a clock tower standing at almost 10 meters in height.
The plaza is surrounded by important buildings such as the Municipal Palace, the Public Library, and the cathedral. It is the ideal place to enjoy sunsets and indulge in a delicious ice cream.
