THE PREFERRED SPOT FOR WHALES

There are over 20 km of pristine beaches located in the municipality of Huatabampo, in the southern part of Sonora.

Huatabampito is a small, relatively secluded and scenic coastal community with beautiful pristine beaches of fine sand and blue-green waters. Other beaches worth visiting in the area are Las Bocas and Camahuiroa, where you can enjoy a plethora of water activities.

Visit the Museum Casa del General Álvaro Obregón

In the town of Huatabampo, you can visit the Museum Casa del General Álvaro Obregón, located in a building dating back to the late 19th century where the famous revolutionary lived.

The museum offers a glimpse into his life and exhibits various objects such as documents, dioramas, weapons, and furniture, among others. Opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 to 13:00 and from 15:00 to 17:00 hrs.

It's an ideal place for boat rides and fishing for species such as sawfish, grouper, and corvina. Every year, various competitions of speedboats and quad bikes are held.

Experience whale watching

The main attraction of Huatabampito is that in the early months of each year, whales from cold waters seek refuge in the warm waters of the Gulf of California to reproduce. Boat tours along the coast are organized to get a close view of this impressive natural phenomenon.
