This land is located on one side of the central plaza, also known as Zócalo.

A potter's market was previously located here, which is why it was called “Plazuela de Cántaros” (Square of Jars).

In 1840, it was planned to improve the appearance of the property and make a garden that would be a small replica of the Alameda in the capital of the Republic. The new garden was inaugurated on October 13, 1843 with the name Alameda de León, in honor of the governor of the State.

A few years ago it was remodeled according to the original characteristics of the ancient place. Its leafy grove invites you to rest and contemplate the Cathedral and the other buildings that surround it.
