This is a mining town founded in 1658.
It is located south of the state, in the Parral Valley, and has a mining origin.
One of its distinctive features is its aerial tramway, with baskets installed in 1902 that are still very useful for transporting minerals.
Among its interesting buildings is the Parish of San Francisco, with a simple facade, and several monuments such as those dedicated to motherhood and friendship.
Regarding its crafts, the highlights include baskets made from egg shells, macramé, and figures made from sugar.
The town is known for its rich beef barbecue, served with charro beans that include chorizo, bacon, ham, and pieces of sausage.
