It began its operations in 1571 and is located on Cerro del Crestón.
Because it is built on a rocky island or crest, with its 157 meters in height, it is the world's tallest operational natural lighthouse.
It is a very popular spot for visitors to the port, who climb to the top through steep and rugged paths, although it should be mentioned that there are sections with rustic stairs that facilitate the ascent. It takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes to reach the top, and along the way, you can enjoy the region's flora and fauna.
Upon reaching the top, you can appreciate a panoramic view of Mazatlán.
Additionally, it has a glass lookout at a height of 157 meters, offering a view of the entire port. To protect the glass floor, special sock-like covers are provided. It can accommodate up to 15 people, so if you want to avoid queues, we advise you to arrive very early.
