It is characterized by its landscapes of fruit trees and enormous palm trees.

This town was founded in 1723 under the name Mission of Santiago Apóstol and has a pleasant square where you can experience the tranquil way of life in the area.

Near the town, there is a place where marine fossils are found, indicating that this desert terrain was once underwater. Some of these giant fossils are displayed in a small museum open from Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

There is a small zoo with animals from the region, complemented by a delightful botanical garden with various fruit trees and different varieties of cacti.

A little further north, you can find some hot springs, Agua Caliente, Santa Rita, and El Chorro, as well as an incredible waterfall where you can swim in the middle of an impressive canyon.

Location

Located an hour and a half north of San José del Cabo.
