It is one of the highest viewpoints in Mazatlán.
It was once used by the Spanish to guard the port and later by Mazatlecos to defend their port in a battle against the French intervention in 1864.
At the summit, you will find La Pérgola del Paseo del Centenario, where one of the three English cannons that defended Mazatlán still remains.
The Meteorologist's House, also known as the Observatory, is also located there.
