In its early years, it was known as Plazuela del Jesús due to its proximity to the Church of Jesús de la Tercera Orden, which dates back to the 17th century.

This is why this place has witnessed much of the city’s history.

Today, it has become a pleasant spot to enjoy a moment of tranquility while sitting on its benches. 

It is surrounded by several outdoor cafes.

The staircase featuring the statue of Manuel Cepeda Peraza is a perfect spot for a memorable selfie.

On weekends, the park transforms into a lively scene with musicians, street performers, and handicraft vendors.
