WHITE CITY EMBRACED BY THE MAYA WORLD
Mérida is the capital of the state of Yucatán and the economic and cultural center of southeastern Mexico.
At night, Mérida can be a fascinating experience with its horse-drawn carriage rides, outdoor cafes, restaurants, serenades, concerts, and nightlife. On Mondays, in front of the Municipal Palace, the traditional Yucatecan jarana dance takes place, and on Sundays, two orchestras liven up the night with son, salsa, and cumbia rhythms.
The rich cultural heritage (Mayan and Spanish) is creatively reflected in its crafts. Pottery, colorful textiles, carved stone and wood objects, and above all, the hammocks that have made the region famous.
Just a few kilometers away, there are several archaeological gems. Yucatán is home to over 1,600 discovered pre-Hispanic buildings. In addition to haciendas, cenotes, caves, and many other attractions.
In recent years, Mérida has become known as the "Medical Capital of the Southeast" due to its modern and efficient healthcare infrastructure.
The average annual temperature is 26°C (79°F). The climate is tropical, similar to that of Florida or Cuba.
