It was built from 1942 to 1945 and is considered one of the most beautiful parks in the city.
It spans four blocks, bordered by Calle 18 (to the east), Calle 19 (to the north), and bisectrices (Av. Colón and Calle 20) in the García Ginerés neighborhood.
The park consists of four sections. The first section features a huge fountain in the shape of a Maya-inspired hemicycle with seven columns representing Kukulkan.
The second section is home to the José Martí Cultural Center, located in a building resembling a Puuc-style Mayan hut. In front, you can see totemic figures of the pheasant and deer. In the central part, there is an exhibition hall showcasing murals depicting historical figures from all over the Americas, such as José Martí, Hidalgo, Washington, Morelos, Bolívar, among others. There is also a library with a children's reading room.
The third section features an open-air theater with an acoustic shell and a large esplanade. Its design is inspired by the Thousand Columns building located in the Chichén Itzá archaeological site. Regularly, on Sundays, there are sports or cultural events.
The fourth section has a playground with games and a small bicycle track.
