This is a picturesque mining town.

Its name comes from the compound word referring to a 20 to 30-meter-wide strip of ore that runs through the town.

You can stroll through its narrow streets and visit places like its peculiar cemetery, its temples such as the Calvario with a Baroque style and the San Juan Bautista with a more austere style, as well as the Niño Minero Museum where tools used to extract minerals from mines are exhibited.

The town offers some adventures, such as riding an ATV to explore the water springs, the flooded mine tunnel, and tunnels to learn about Vetagrande's rich mining past.

Don't miss the opportunity to hear mystical tales about witches in the area.

Location

Located just 11 km, approximately 17 minutes north of the city of Zacatecas.
