TOP SIGHTS IN AGUASCALIENTES
Antiguos Baños de Ojocaliente
These ancient thermal baths are also known as the "Baños Grandes" (Large Baths).
They opened their doors in the mid-19th century and are housed in a beautiful neoclassical building with clear French influence. They were one of the first tourist attractions in Aguascalientes
The medicinal waters have an average temperature of 40°C and aid in physical rehabilitation, rheumatism, and arthritis.

Madero Avenue
One of the main streets in the historic center.
It is a nice avenue lined with beautiful 20th century buildigns.
Starting at the Railroad Station and culminating at the Main Square, it has been the quintessential commercial avenue.
Civic parades, the traditional Romería de la Asunción, the Spring Parade during the San Marcos Fair, and the celebration of "Calaveras" to commemorate the traditional Day of the Dead all take place on this street.
La Alameda en Aguascalientes
A beautiful, tree-lined avenue built in the late 19th century.
La Alameda is adorned with the typical lanterns of Aguascalientes, characterized by having four black-painted iron lanterns on a pink quarry stone column.
It is the ideal place to enjoy the tranquility and peace that this city offers amid large trees.
La Maestranza
A dynamic mural created with mechatronic technology.
Measuring 18 meters in length and 5 meters in height, it narrates the history of the railway in the region.
The mural is made of sheet metal, following the original design in papyrus style by Maestro Víctor Zamarripa Alférez, who was inspired by the engraved calaveras (skulls) by the Aguascalientes artist José Guadalupe Posada.

Palacio Legislativo
An old estate built between 1912 and 1914.
It was formerly the elegant Hotel París and, since 1982, has served as the headquarters of the State Legislative Power.
Its facade consists of three levels of pink quarry stone in a neoclassical style, just like the interior, where several Doric columns and a beautiful staircase with a balustrade can be appreciated.

Plaza de la Patria
Located in the heart of the city, it is also known as the Main Square.
Like in most colonial cities, there are several important buildings surrounding the main plaza.
It features a small fountain and benches made of pink quarry stone.
The "Exedra" stands out, with a central Ionic column topped with a spreading Iron Royal Eagle, symbolically representing the Center of the Mexican Republic.
Plaza de las Tres Centurias
The train station was inaugurated in 1911.
The plaza has a Californian colonial style and featured platforms and a pleasant garden.
This space has been transformed into the Plaza de las Tres Centurias, named so because the buildings that make it up were constructed in three different centuries: 19th, 20th, and 21st.

Teatro de Aguascalientes
The theater was built in 1991, it is a majestic venue with a capacity of 1,650 spectators.
It hosts classical and popular music concerts, theater plays, ballet, and dance performances.
During the National Fair of San Marcos, the folkloric show known as "Ferial" is presented here.

Teatro Morelos
A neoclassical building constructed between 1883 and 1885.
This theater has witnessed significant historical events.
In 1914, representatives from all revolutionary factions gathered here to establish the Revolutionary Convention as the sovereign body and appoint General Eulalio Gutiérrez as the provisional President of the Mexican Republic.
In 1989, a site museum was installed on the mezzanine to commemorate this convention.

San Antonio de Padua Church
One of the most beautiful buildings in Aguascalientes, constructed from 1895 to 1908 by Refugio Reyes Rivas.
It incorporates various architectural styles such as Gothic, Neoclassical, Mudéjar, and Baroque, among others, harmoniously blended, making it a unique piece in the country.
The construction features green, yellow, and pink quarry stone. Its three towers, of which the central one has two sections, stand out.

This is a pleasant and easy way to explore the city's attractions.
