A TOWN TO ENJOY GUAVAS AND COLONIAL ARCHITECTURE

The foundation of the town is due to a donation from Don José Calvillo, owner of Hacienda San Nicolás, in 1771. Calvillo is a town full of traditions, known for its fine embroidery and its guava production. In fact, it is known as the "world capital of guava."

The city can be enjoyed by walking or on the Guayequito, a tram located in the main square, almost in front of the Municipal Presidency, which offers various tours.

In Calvillo, there are some tourist routes. The first one is the Cantinas Route, where you visit several bars and have a drink in each of them, including those made with guava.

Another route is the Artist's Route, a tour through the streets of the historic center to appreciate 15 paintings that depict the history and legends of the town.
